night-fate-stock is the home of Julia, Shes based in the USA and has been sharing and creating stock and tutorials with the DA community for 5 years now. As part of our Stock & Resources Project Educate week, we tracked her down and asked her a few questions.
What were your first artistic influences, and did they have a hand in the development of your resources?
When I first picked up a point-and-shoot camera on a family vacation to Yellowstone in 2005, the world suddenly changed for me. I saw nature in a way that I never saw it before. I had joined deviantART a month earlier, and as I browsed the website I discovered stock photos, and because I was constantly shooting hundreds of photos, I thought that they would be useful stock photos, and so I created a stock account.

Whats one of the most rewarding aspects for you as a resource provider?
All the adventures I have experienced. It feels very rewarding and worth it when I go out to take photos and to have artists find them useful for their personal artwork.

Whats the one thing you find the most frustrating about being a resource provider?
When people assume that a stock photo is nothing more but a simple capture that is free to download and use or abuse without considering that it takes time, effort, motivation, and dedication to go out and take the photos and to want to share them. It's a hobby, and I have to make the time for it to happen based on life being life.

Do you have a favourite resource in your gallery, can you tell us why its a favourite?
I honestly don't have an absolute favourite, but I do love to photograph sand dunes and flat desert landscapes.

Your stock gets used for a huge variety of artwork, do you have any favourites?
I have so many favourites! It's hard to pick out my favourites, but I really like when my photos are used in matte paintings, which I don't see much.
But I also love the space art made with my desert photos.
Last but not least, what flavour cupcake are you?
Vanilla with rainbow sprinkles!
